On the 15th September 2015, in Frankfurt Germany, the Land Rover and Jaguar vehicles that will be used in the next James Bond movie ‘Spectre’, were on display. The unveiling saw the Land Rover Defender, Range Rover Sport SVR and Jaguar C-X75, steal the lime light as the cars were revealed to the world at the Thurn und Taxis venue in Frankfurt. A star studded line up of guests at the event, included two of the actors in the film. David Bautista who plays ‘Hinx’ and Naomie Harris who plays ‘Moneypenny’ in the latest 007 adventure, were amongst the attendees.
From Albert R. Broccoli’s EON Productions, Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Studios and Sony Pictures Entertainment, comes the latest James Bond 007 movie entitled ‘Spectre’. It is the 24th James Bond film and will be released globally this month. The Jaguar C-X75 supercar is driven in the most iconic chase scene of the whole film. The C-X75 was provided by the Special Vehicle Operations (SVO) department of Jaguar Land Rover. The SVO had worked together with Williams Advanced Engineering at their headquarters in Oxfordshire.
In addition to the Jaguar C-X75, the quickest Range Rover ever made the Range Rover Sport SVR and individually modified Land Rover defenders also appear in the James Bond film. The Defenders were built by the Land Rover SVO department and feature extremely large 37″ diameter off-road tyres. As well as the tyre up grades, body protection had to be installed onto the Defenders to enable the vehicles to navigate the perilous terrain in Austria, where filming took place.
“To have the opportunity to be a part of an iconic chase scene in a Bond movie and to drive the C-X75 supercar was like a dream come true for me. It truly is a beautiful beast of a car that will go down in movie history.” stated the actor Mr Bautista.
His co-star Naomie Harris said …
“I made my Bond debut in the Defender, and I have so many fond memories shooting that sequence in Turkey. It’s such a special franchise to be a part of, and I’m thrilled to be here in Frankfurt with the Jaguar Land Rover team”.
Mr John Edwards, Managing Director of Jaguar Land Rover Special Operations said …
“For Jaguar Land Rover to once again be a part of the iconic vehicle line ups in one of the most celebrated film franchises in the world represents a proud moment for us. It’s an incredible opportunity to showcase production and concept cars alike and we look forward to continuing this relationship well into the future.”
Sidesteps UK wish every success for the latest James Bond film.
